  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
We understand that life happens, and will reschedule or cancel appointments if needed. However, please give 24 hours notice whenever possible. Three or more late cancels and/or no shows will be required to pay at booking.
  • Is there anything I should tell my service provider before the waxing begins?
You will be required to fill out an intake form at each visit. This is your opportunity to tell your provider any info about your skin care regiment, concerns, conditions, etc. Certain products could lead to skin lifting and no one wants that. Always be honest!
  • Is there anything I should AVOID BEFORE my wax appointment?
Do not shave for 2-3 weeks prior to waxing. The hair needs to be 1/4-1/2" long. Avoid being waxed around your menstrual cycle. The skin is extra sensitive and it will be more uncomfortable for you. Not a rule, just a suggestion.
  • Is there anything I should AVOID AFTER my wax appointment?
Avoid standing water (pools, hot tubs, bath tubs, etc.) for 24-48 hours. Avoid tanning for 48 hours. Avoid physical and sexual activity for 24 hours, especially if skin is sensitive. Avoid exfoliating for 48-72 hours.
  • How long does my hair have to be?
Your hair should be at least 1/4-1/2 inch long. Please do not trim, as it might be too short to remove.
  • Can I get waxed if I'm on my period?
Yes, you can get waxed while on your period. However, elevated hormone levels increase skin sensitivity and you may be more uncomfortable. Taking an ibuprofen 30 minutes before your service may help.
  • What should I wear to get waxed?
Tight clothing may be harsh on freshly waxed skin, so loose fitting is most desirable. However, wear whatever you prefer. Keep in mind that for bikini services, you will be bottomless. Plan accordingly for your top.
  • What type of wax is used for Bikini waxing?
We use a gentle hard wax with skin calming oils for waxing the bikini area.
  • What can I do after a waxing appointment to soothe my skin?
Your service provider will go over ways to maintain your freshly waxed skin.
  • Do you double dip?
We love to share info, stories and jokes with our clients, but never ever DNA. Double dipping is not an option at Bare Wax Studio.
  • How long should I wait to book my next appointment?
Booking your next appointment can be done at any time. However, we recommend doing it following your service to be sure to get an appointment. Remember, you can always change it up until 24 hours prior.
  • Is there an age limit for getting waxed?
While there is no age limit, a parent/guardian will need to sign the intake form for children under 18. We also reserve the right to refuse service to any child under 18 for any reason.
  • Can someone come in the treatment room with me?
The only time someone else can come into the treatment room is if it is a parent/guardian to a child under 18.
  • How is Bare Wax Studio different than other spas?
Bare Wax Studio is different in that we only see one client at a time. Your experience is 100% personal and private. We will take our time to make sure that you are comfortable and happy with all aspects of your service.
  • Is there parking available?
We do have parking available all around the building.
  • What are the benefits of waxing over shaving?
Unlike shaving, where the hair is cut at the surface of the skin, waxing removes the hair from the root (which causes the follicle to tighten). Smaller follicles produce thinner hairs. Thinner hairs have smaller roots. Smaller roots remove more easily, making each wax experience (when done regularly) more comfortable than the last. It's not uncommon for hair follicles to stop producing hair over time for people who wax regularly (4-6 weeks). Typically it takes weeks to grow back, rather than every day stubble.
